Corporate Social Responsibility Statement

We recognise that our social and environmental conduct has an impact on our reputation as a corporate entity. We take our corporate and social responsibilities (CSR) seriously and are committed to advancing our policies and systems to ensure we address and monitor all aspects of CSR that are relevant to our business. These include good ethical behaviour, concern for employee health and safety, care for the environment and community relationships.

We recognise that it is important to maintain a productive and open dialogue with all parties who have an interest in our activities including our customers, suppliers and employees. We encourage feedback from employees, conduct regular customer satisfaction and monitor supplier performance. We welcome communication from interested groups and maintain our website as conduit for providing information and for contacting us.

Alwin are committed to providing employees with a continuing learning and development opportunity to fulfil their potential. Appropriate training and education programmes are ongoing and encouraged.

Alwin are committed to providing equality of opportunity to all existing and prospective employees without unlawful or unfair discrimination. Full support is given to the employment and advancement of disabled persons, when applicable.

Alwin place significant emphasis on customer care and service; and recognises the importance of appropriate employee training that is required to achieve this.

Health and Safety

Directors and managers within Alwin demonstrate and disseminate commitment to health and safety by regularly reviewing our health and safety policy and issuing it to all staff: holding regular health and safety management review meetings; ensuring that the entire workforce has access to competent advice; and most importantly by involving the whole workforce.

Environmental

Alwin recognises the importance of good environmental practice and the impact that its operations may have on the environment. The main objective of Alwin’s environmental policy is to comply with environmental legislation in all jurisdictions in which we operate and to adopt responsible business practices by providing the best practicable environmental option.

Alwin are accredited to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Our business continues to report improvements in environmental performance in meeting goals for reducing waste, greater recycling and reducing energy consumption. Our objective is to reduce the amount of waste for our customers and ourselves that we send to landfill by increasing our volume of recycling services, so far we have already been able to assist customers in achieving zero to landfill this year.

Community

Alwin’s policy is to be a responsible partner within the local community by supporting community initiatives and local charities.

We support local education through several initiatives including offering work experience and training for students. We try to disseminate the message of the importance of recycling through School site visits and presentations. A broad spectrum of community and special interest groups visit our operations.

Alwin is fully committed to continue to encourage all employees to find new ways to have a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work.
